Raila condemns circulation of claims that Orengo had resigned due to illness

ODM leader Raila Odinga has sharply criticised individuals who circulated malicious rumours and even wished death upon   Siaya Governor James Orengo  during his extended stay abroad. 2 feared dead in Nakuru–Kisumu Highway crash

                                   Two people are feared dead following a grisly road accident on Sunday, August 17, 2025, along the Nakuru–Kisumu highway. The crash happened at the notorious  Sobea blackspot  and involved a private car and a transit trailer. According to witnesses, the victims a mother and her adult daughter, were travelling back to Nairobi after attending a burial in Kisumu when tragedy struck. Authorities have long identified the Sobea stretch as a danger zone, citing its sharp bends and heavy trailer traffic. Despite numerous calls for caution, accidents continue to claim lives at the spot, making it one of the most dreaded points along the busy highway. COTU Secretary-General   Francis Atwoli  has showered praise on President William Ruto, saying no Kenyan head of state has demonstrated as much passion for football as him. According to Atwoli, Ruto’s passion for football has surpassed that of any other Kenyan president since independence. Raila promises Harambee Stars players Ksh500K each

ODM leader Raila Odinga has pledged to reward Harambee Stars players Ksh500,000 each following their dramatic 1–0 victory over Zambia in the   African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024  on Sunday, August 17, 2025. Raila, who joined President William Ruto in the Harambee Stars dressing room after the final whistle, congratulated the players, prayed with them, and urged them to keep believing in themselves.
